Rockport switchless network fabric cluster

The Rockport switchless network is a new 100GBit/s fabric which is based  on a 6D Torus topology (as used by the Fugaku supercomputer).  A 224 node (6000 core) cluster has been installed at Durham University as part of  COSMA using half of the COSMA7 HPC facility.  This allows for a direct comparison of scientific codes between InfiniBand and Rockport, and provides insight into the potential of this networking technology.

Access

This system is integrated with COSMA allowing the existing login nodes and infrastructure to be used.  Users are able to request an account through the SAFE system managed by EPCC, and should contact Alastair Basden to discuss their requirements.
